Our Story

Mai Travel, based in Auckland is a luxury tour company that specialises in tailor-made private tours of New Zealand.
The Founders; Mai and Peter are both from Egypt, speaking fluent English and Arabic, they have visited over 50 countries combined but fell in love with New Zealand which is now their forever home. They love showcasing all the stunning areas of New Zealand and helping their guests create those perfect memories and moments.

The name “Mai” translates beautifully in the New Zealand native Maori language; “here”

Mai loves sharing the beauty of New Zealand with everyone and has been working in the hospitality and travel industry for over 10 years. Born in Egypt and lived in Dubai, fluent in both English and Arabic, she loves meeting and getting to know people from all over the world. Mai has experienced 36 counties and 113 cities but New Zealand is her chosen home and she is passionate about showing off the magical scenery and helping visitors create lifelong memories and moments.

Peter 

Managing Director & Co-Founder

Peter has a passion for meeting new people of all cultures and loves showing people New Zealand. Born in Kuwait to Egyptian parents, Peter loves to travel and has explored over 15 countries. New Zealand is now his forever home and loves all the outdoor activities, just stepping outside there is so much to do, nature walks, swimming, kayaking… the list goes on.
